So, let's try a doubleblind. Someone email them about a game that we are certain is dead.
Fittingly, perhaps Heroscape should be the game in question.

They said the exact same thing about heroscape Such a shame that it comes down to money. But then again, the game would never have been made in the first place if they weren't trying to make money.

So let's pray and keep our fingers crossed... I'm not very confident though. Just in case they should stop the support of the product, I think it would be a mayor mistake, as there was just evolving a gamer community with the SoI set. I concur. SoI really made the game special. Unique Terrain, new game modes, more multi-color options. I really hope it suddenly gets announced. So many things haven't been explored yet! Artifacts! A Hero Creature! Common Squads! There's so much more this game can offer!

so I just got an email back from a Hasbro customer care rep stating they have no plans to discontinue the product line. however with the lack of news or advertising, i'd take that with a grain of salt.

The not existing hero creature is a meme on its own ^^ SoI was an amazing set for real. I honestly don't like everything they've done with it (the weird terrain is just... weird), but they tried so much and most of it even worked out

my email:
Due to lack of news of any expansions for over a year now, I just want to know if the product Magic the Gathering Arena of the Planeswalkers has been discontinued so that I may move on to something still being produced.
Hasbro rep reply:
Hi Joshua,
Thank you for contacting Hasbro Consumer Care. I appreciate your interest in Magic the Gathering Arena of the Planeswalkers.
We do not have any plans to discontinue this product line.
Thanks for checking.
I hope you have a fun day!
Kind regards,
Mary

All,
I just got this response from Hasbro today. It seems like they may actually tell us what's going on sometime soon.
"Thank you for waiting for my response regarding expansion packs for Magic the Gathering Arena of the Planeswalkers. I was able to reach out to our games team and as right now, no information is available on future expansion packs. What I can tell you, however, is additional information should be available in the very near future. Please be assured I will keep checking on this and will notify you as soon as I hear something. Thank you for your understanding and patience."

OH NO! Sorry to hear this and break it to you guys, but I received the EXACT same response from Hasboro support: ""Hi there,
Thank you for your interest in Hasbro, Inc. with your inquiry regarding Magic: The Gathering Arena Of The Planeswalkers.
Since many revisions may occur prior to a product release, information, such as release dates, possible new items and where to buy future products, is not available in advance for distribution.
We ask that you visit our web site at www.hasbro.com often for the most current product information.
We appreciate your understanding and your interest.
Warm regards,
Oneida"
Yeah, It sounds like this one may be going under. What a heartbreak. I mean, if they release one more big box expansion id' be content. I have 3 sets of everything; with house rules we have what we need, but one more set would be perfect.

So let's pray and keep our fingers crossed... I'm not very confident though. Just in case they should stop the support of the product, I think it would be a mayor mistake, as there was just evolving a gamer community with the SoI set. Up Here in Canada (at least in Ottawa anyway), Shadows over Innistrad is actually not that easy to find. Toys R' Us didn't stock it (even though they had/have the Core Set and Battle for Zendikar available). You won't find it at any Walmart or Target. None of my local gaming stores stock it either. The only place to find it is online. I've read around the EU countries have an even harder time finding it. I actually just got back from a trip to the US and I ended up finding it at a Walmart in Atlanta. Also.. I've been poking around for this supposed "evolving gamer community with the SoI set". I don't believe that's true at all. This messageboard has little to no activity on it and BoardGameGeek posts are very scarce as well. Comparatively to other games... there's not really much buzz about this one. Just look on youtube and you'll only find a handful of reviews, a boat load of "unboxing" videos (which are so lame IMO) and another handful of "Let's Play/Game Night" type of vids. I think the future of AotP is pretty bleek. The currently released sets offer "just enough" game for it to feel complete when all combined. I doubt Hasbro is gonna move ahead with more sets/releases. Sad, but probably true. I agree that the currently released sets when all put together provide as you said "just enough" for the game to feel complete and to have enough customization so that you can have uniquely fun games. I also think with the addition of 100+ heroscape tiles off Amazon the game becomes "enough" to be a fun game that has enough customization and unique gameplay to offer a fun experience every game. However, this is the part that would make me feel the saddest if they discontinued Arena of the Planeswalkers. Right now they have just enough to form a basis but with 2 or 3 more sets this game could become better by leaps and bounds. There is just simply so much potential for this game and I really hope they don't abandon it.
