It sounds like they are releasing it as a single box. Basically like buying another copy of the core. Which is fine, if it's still pretty cheap. Big box expansions have the drawback of higher price point usually (from experience with FFG and such) but have the advantage of a good deal of content.
Which raises the question to me, Likely to be common squads? New spells? These sound great, but when you add in planeswalkers, you get unique redundancy again...
Of course, thats all under the assumption that this will be a single box expansion. But if not that, then wont we get something similar to what Heroscape was plagued with? And if not that either, then what else?
I guess at least this time, retailers wont be saddled with product. The consumers will have to buy it to get multiple copies of cards/squads.

Very cool news! Both planeswalkers look interesting and I think will be good additions. It would be interesting to see the squads( which maybe we will as more news breaks). I like the big box expansion idea for planeswalkers and unique units. I am interested to see if common boxes will come out as well in January.

$20 expansion with two new Planeswalkers. Very cool! I wonder what the new spells and such will be. The other bits displayed near the expansion seem to be the same glyphs and cards that came in the base set. They couldn't possibly just throw the same stuff in the expansion, especially the glyphs.

Also, this photo from Hasbro's twitter shows the full windows in the expansion box for the Planeswalkers at the top shelf, leaving plenty of other room for new content. I doubt we'll see new boards in this expansion though, if the boards remain a consistent size as those in the base game. I'd rather have new squads/spells/glyphs/terrain than new boards anyways.

I had wondered if there would be more boards to allow for bigger maps, and thus 3v3. But it seems you are right seeing the box size there isn't any. Which is fine, I would rather have the other as well. Plus 20$ is a nice price point for 2 planeswalkers, decks, and armies

This makes me wonder if they are giving a squad for each color in the pack, or if it's more specific.
I'm gonna use the M:tG duels of the planeswalkers packs as precedent. These contained two 'equally' matched decks to fight each other.
Perhaps that is what they are doing here as well? Something for Kiora and Ob Nixilis. Squads and spells that work well against one another.
I would prefer all colors get equal treatment in each expansion, so that each color gets just a little something each time new product rolls out. But this isn't a bad way to approach it either. I am quite curious, that if they do go that route, what we have in store for it.

Incorrect. Comparing the expansion box right above the base game box, we can clearly see the expansion is shorter in length. All the spells and glyps are items from the base game. It seems the only new content displayed are the Planeswalkers and their army cards.

Perhaps its a "This is the stuff we will have in the game, but we don't have any of it finished yet." Like there will be new cards and glyphs but they aren't willing to show them off yet?

The box definitely looks big enough to house at least a few units, possibly one for each color.

Very cool expansion! All for $20 is crazy. I liked the picture with the new minis, it seems each color is getting a little bit added on.

They have also announced a new 3 or 4 Vs. 1 mode using Eldrazi. It looks interesting and will make a nice change of pace from just Planeswalker Vs Planeswalker. That Eldrazi Stats are exceptional, and it's abilities make me legitimately terrified of fighting this thing! www.gatheringmagic.com/news-10072015-corrupt-zendikar-in-arena-of-the-planeswalkers/ You can also see all the new figures coming out in the expansion, looks like 's getting some goblins in his army
