Ok, everyone is complaining about not being able to build a deck and an army, but this game is VERY young. With Kiora, there is a chance to build both a deck and an army. Granted, it's a limited selection, but I'm willing to bet there would be some variations as to how to play Kiora. So, I'll go first. My army would be:
Merfolk Roilmage (100 pts), Elf Rangers (80 pts), and Illusionary Projections (65 pts), plus (obviously) Kiora (345 pts), for a total of 590 pts.
I don't have the expansion just yet, I'm waiting for it to arrive later this week, but I'm excited to build this army and give it a run.
What would you build?

id probably go with leyline, rangers, and path wardens. the buffs on leyline are probably super deadly just buff and move through everything, also with the greens and blues control will probably make the color combination really strong.

So you say Kiora (345 pts), with Leyline Phantoms (95 pts), Elf Rangers (80 pts), and Path Wardens (100 pts) for a total of 620 pts? Umm, that's above the 600 point total. It might be better, but it doesn't fit the rules.

Here's an avenue not explored, even by me... Kiora with the Ruiner (150 pts).

true then instead of wardens it would need to be Illusionary Projections, im not a fan of the ruiner i wont be using him, dont mind others using him. however if you could fit the cost of him and his scions it could be really strong. the greens buffs are really good and blues control is also really good.

i personaly prefer using kiora (345) illusionary projections (65) pummelroot elementals (90) and the merfolk roilmage (100) for a total of 600 points. the projections allow for easy entering and exiting battles, which can be a huge game changer, plus card draw. the elementals are huge creatures that help late game. the roil mage is nearly just as strong as kiora and his part the waves has been life saving.

Now you say Kiora (345 pts), with Leyline Phantoms (95 pts), Elf Rangers (80 pts), and Illusionary Projections (65 pts) for a total of 858 pts. Ok, now we have 2 different builds for 1 PW. Anyone want to debate and discuss?
The range of the Projections and Rangers plays more into my personal strategy, but I chose the Roilmage over the Phantoms because of the non-water drawback. Please, let's discuss.

An addition while I was typing. Nice. Personally, it doesn't fit my style, but I would love to take you on. But there's no deck building/army building to this game.

what do you mean there's no deck building? also maybe its because of the maps ive set up where water usually isnt a problem, also i find once you get figures up to someones face you're forced to fight. that were long range units suffer.

what do you mean there's no deck building? What is the #1 complaint against this game? On here, and on reviews. The lack of army building/deck building. Enter Kiora. The base game came out, and everyone cried for an expansion. An expansion came, but it didn't fit what they expected (so you create proxies). Critics expected a LARGE expansion, that gave deck/army building options for mono-colored PW. Guess what? That didn't happen. Here's you opportunity to deck/army build. The next expansion? ALL MULTI-COLORED (gold bordered) PLANESWALKERS. Kiora was the tip of the ice berg. Clearly, Hasbro and WOTC know what they are doing when it comes to a product.

I personally believe that the rate of product release is good, considering what this game is. It doesn't have the "ban stuff we made too powerful because we didn't have enough time to playtest it" mentality that comes with the CTG or other games for that matter. It is a safe route to take and I can respect that from a business perspective. As for what units are good, I have to agree with gideonjura. It's not that Koira is ineffective it's just best to protect her until you can dish out some damage. Also with the use of any hero figure, it tends to put the spotlight on them for a while leaving Walkers like Kiora or Gideon (ones that people feel are not as effective as they should be) out of the limelight. But, as said in my Win ALMOST every time! post it's the tactics you use that matter most and not so much the Unit's you pick.

OK, I played Kiora vs Chandra tonight, with me being Kiora. My army was Kiora (345 pts), Illusionary Projections (65 pts), Merfold Roilmage (100 pts), and Elf Rangers (80 pts) for a total of 590 pts. My deck was Paths Revealed (15 pts), Titanic Growth (10 pts), Overrun (25 pts), Snare the Skies (10 pts), Bountiful Harvest (15 pts), Groundswell (10 pts), Psychic Rebuttal (20 pts), Project Self (5 pts), Talent of the Telepath (45 pts), Mind Control (10 pts), Misdirection (25 pts), and Unsummon (10 pts) for a total of 200 pts. My opponent took the base deck and added the Goblins to the army. I lost, but it was very close.
What deck would you choose with Kiora?

i am going with kiora first pick, I honestly love her. Im playing her with the illusions and the Geists, plus the alchemist or the pummelroots. I think kiora is in many regards the better jace. She has a great map control, since she can summon the illusions in water tiles all over the map and switch positions with them afterwards. This works amazingly well with the new land tiles.
