So..I bought AotP, love Mtg, first time I've played this. I'm playing with my husband and we've gotten into a serious debate over the wording on these cards. -ex.- Have a Jace deck(basic), card reads: UNSUMMON: "Target a squad creature within 4 clear sight spaces of a planeswalker you control. Return that Planeswalker to it's owner's reserve." There are quite a few cards like this but honestly, is it referring to solely Jace? I think it's referring to any of my players. Why wouldn't it specify Jace if that is the only player it's referring to? You have to start with your Planeswalker, how can you return him to your reserve? I know he is specifically listed as "Planeswalker" but it seems stupid and repetitive to list "a plainswalker you control" "Remove up to 3 damage markers from a friendly Planeswalker" Help me. Lord help me. Lol

It is referring to Jace, if he is the planeswalker you chose, they used this eording because there are other planeswalkers (i.e. the Jace in SoI expansion, Kiora in BfZ expansion) also Unsummon does not return the planeswalker, it returns the squad

But the card makes it sound like the terminology is being used interchangeably. If you're targeting a creature or squad, how is a "planeswalker" being returned to your reserve unless they're the same darned thing? Obviously one is more important but still...

Again, the planeswalker is not being returned, it's merely being used to show what you can target, the exact wording on Unsummon is "Target a unique squad creature within 4 clear sight spaces of a planeswalker you control. Return that squad that squad to its owner's reserve." So you target a squad creature within 4 spaces of your planeswalker, then return the targeted squad to the reserve, the wording is not interchangeable

Now would this return the entire squad or just the individual one targeted?

It will return the entire squad back to the reserve

When returned to the reserve, can the squad be summoned to the battlefield again by the controlling Planeswalker?

When returned to the reserve, can the squad be summoned to the battlefield again by the controlling Planeswalker? Yes, although keep in mind that summoning may only occur in a small window when you have chosen to take a turn with your Planeswalker in action two AND you haven't entered action three yet. Basically, summoning must occur between actions 2 and 3 during Planeswalker turns. If you are not taking the turn with your Planeswalker, you do not get to summon.
