I'm new here and I love all of this!!!!! I've been looking for something like this for so long!! With that being said as an avid aotpw player my group consists of 5 people total. We own 1 of each version of the game. 1 original base game, 1 expansion and 1 new base game. Are there any play groups out there that have 5 or more players involved? If so what scenarios do you tweak? What tips do you have? Any suggestions? Thanks again for this site I love it!!!

I haven't done much AotP with that many players yet, but in Heroscape it almost always would work best when it's 2v2, 3v3, etc. One thing we used to do was a sort of capture-the-flag scenario where one person would be in a castle (if you have the terrain) with a more expensive army and two people/teams would have to invade the castle while either supporting each other to make getting in easier, or fighting each other to more easily get the flag for themselves. Then you can have some sort of rule for flag carrying and getting it back into the team's starting zone. It can be a little hard to properly balance, but it's a fun game mode to play around with and it allows for a 1v2v2 scenario for 5 players.
If you're doing free-for-all, it'll likely work best if you play something similar to king-of-the-hill and either make rules for that sort of play or just make a desirable area in the middle so that everyone's fighting over it. That'd be much easier to balance out since everyone would have a similarly pointed army, but everyone knows that free-for-all can end with a salty player or two.
I'd also suggest drafting units to make armies to add more variety and less likelihood of the local "op" army being played every game and ruining the fun, but with the way that colors work in AotP, that might not be very doable.

I played a 5-player AoTP game the first time I played and never again since, since it just took too long between turns and I am impatient. Honestly, I personally think if you have 5 or more people it is better to split in into separate games of 2-4 people. The games will be a lot shorter and you will have less time between each person's turn, and if you want a longer play time, just make it a tournament or something similar. But some people like the epic games and don't mind the extra waiting. It's a personal preference that has affected how I like any game, which is why I no longer like playing Eurogames (especially Catan & Carcassone), wargames (AotP, Heroscape, Risk), or even some party/social deduction games with more than 4 players, unless team or co-op play.

Wow, this thing sucks to use on mobile.
I don't disagree with left. Typically when you have that many people, things get clogged and slowed quite a bit and that can cause some issues, especially if anyone in your group has a lacking attention span. Most of my friends don't play heroscape or AotP because whenever we do there are 4-6 of us. That can take hours to finish and you're only actively playing for about a fourth of it.
This isn't to say you shouldn't do it at all, especially if you and your friends know you prefer big games. It's just something to absolutely take into consideration. Personally, I still think the more the merrier, but I know most disagree.
