i watched many games where both playas decided to not summon their squads in the first turn. Why is that ? What are the strategic benefits ?

i watched many games where both playas decided to not summon their squads in the first turn. Why is that ? What are the strategic benefits ? Once your PW moves, you can no longer summon squads. For this reason, to engage your squads into deeper territory you may want to have them move and therefore be rendered unable to summon on their first turn. Then on your second turn you can further along down the board closer to where you are ultimately trying to claim high ground or engage opposing players.

Another thing to think about when summoning is that and and have "When summoned" abilities, making their timing crucial. Also, deploying a swarm of creatures around your opponent's planewalker before unleashing your planeswalkers attack can mean victory in just a few turns since there are very few teleporting/escaping mechanics in the game currently. Plus, as Chandra, hitting an enemy with a firecat and THEN hitting them twice with your planeswalker is a lot of damage in one turn, especially in conjunction with some of her spells like twinflame and her direct damage abilities.
