Currently, as the armies are, you cannot select two of the same army card since they are all Unique. This reduces strategy and the value of having multiple sets a bit. My suggestion, taken from Heroscape, is to add the Uncommon army type. This leaves the Unique type for figures that have names. For example, Avacyn, just like the Legendary type in Magic the card game. Here are my proposed categories:Unique Hero - Single figure army cards with names (Avacyn) Uncommon Hero - Single figure army cards without names (Mad Prophet, Kor Aeronaut, Ghoul Vanguard, Necro-Alchemist, etc) Common Hero - could be and/or a 1 life figure (Eldrazi Ruiner?, VIP scenario figure?) Unique Squad - (Anax and Cymede, Gisa and Geralf, Kynaios and Tiro, Mina and Denn, Pia and Kiran, Tibor and Lumia) Uncommon Squad - Multiple figure army cards (Elf Rangers, Blazing Firecats, Bloodchasers, etc) Common Squad - could be and/or 1 life figures (constructs, Eldrazi Scion, zombie tokens, etc) Changing all the current army cards to the Uncommon type (expect Avacyn) would not affect any of the spells or gameplay because Uncommon are treated as Unique other than for drafting. Common is a different story until Wizards releases something that uses that type. There are some spells in the Magic card game that target a color and, because is not a color, Common could be the way to target those figures. But until then I will treat them like in Heroscape. There would probably need to be some strength balances to increase Unique heroes and deal with Common figures but this change would add more army possibilities, drafting strategies and add to the game thematically. What do you think?
