I have a scenario that has always bothered me in heroscape play and will come into play with certain future scenarios when using castles or other walls of protection with Arena scenarios.
I am sure that dragons, etc will come into play with future Arena expansions and has anyone come up with a way to protect against flyers? The only way really would be to imagine that the buildings had an actual roof and walls around it and a certain amount of damage would have to be given to destroy the walls or ceiling in order to get in the castle.
But from my past experience with Magic, with the different lands, most of the action seems to take place outside, so that is a good thing.
Anyway, just wanted feedback on how to defeat flyers in a castle situation.

Perhaps scenario specific rules might be the answer. Maybe the fight takes place inside a huge cavern, and flyers are restricted to half of their movement while flying?

Reach (Creature with flying still take leaving engagement attack from this while moving.) Barrier (Creatures with flying can't move through the spaces this occupies.) These would, of course, would be seen on Wall artifacts. Pure speculation though.

I always enjoyed making maps with overhangs and even as Yawgmoth said, caverns. As per rules say, they can only walk/fly under items equal to or less then their hight. it allows for a slight advantage of duck and dodge.
