Hey so I had recently bought the MTG AotP game and then the BFZ expansion and I have a few questions.
1) when I summon my squad creatures, do I put them up to 5 spaces in front of the PW, or can I put them on any empty spaces around the PW even if they would be behind the PW?
2) when moving my figures, do I stop when they become adjacent (or rather engaged) with an enemy/opposing players creatures? And does this include my teammates figures in a 2v2 match?
3) when coming out of water, does it subtract or add to the total moves that figure has according to its army card? Also, when going up in elevation, say 3 of the tiles included in the base game, does it take 4 moves (Three to go up each tile and one to move onto the actual spot) or how does that work?
4) If I get a second base game set, am I able to build my own battle field? And can I also do that with one base game set? If so, how would rules for "deck building" (for both army and spell decks) be set up, or how does deck building work for base and expansion sets work already?
5) Last thing (at least for now), how does attacking work? Can I attack any figure whether or not it is adjacent (or engaged) with another enemy figure?
Thanks again for answering my questions.

Firstly, I highly recommend you watch this video located on the Hasbro rules and demo gameplay video page.
Q. 1) when I summon my squad creatures, do I put them up to 5 spaces in front of the PW, or can I put them on any empty spaces around the PW even if they would be behind the PW?
A. 1) You can put the squad creatures within 5 spaces/hexes away from your Walker in any feasible direction.
Q. 2) when moving my figures, do I stop when they become adjacent (or rather engaged) with an enemy/opposing players creatures? And does this include my teammates figures in a 2v2 match?
A. 2) You do not have to stop your movement phase when entering an engagement. When you leave the opposing figures adjacent spaces your opponent then may choose to deal 1 unblockable dice roll worth of damage. And you cannot become engaged with another allied figure. (Well you might but no real teammate would choose to deal the damage as engagement attacks are optional.)
Q. 3) when coming out of water, does it subtract or add to the total moves that figure has according to its army card? Also, when going up in elevation, say 3 of the tiles included in the base game, does it take 4 moves (Three to go up each tile and one to move onto the actual spot) or how does that work?
A. 3) Water does not add/subtract movement. It is however lower than the desert spaces. (Keep in mind you will stop your figures movement when entering any water space and your opponent will get +1 and +1 when attacking/defending against your lower figure.) When moving up terrain spaces/hexes you count up the height of the hexes then move onto the space you want to. So, yes you are correct.
Q. 4) If I get a second base game set, am I able to build my own battle field? And can I also do that with one base game set? If so, how would rules for "deck building" (for both army and spell decks) be set up, or how does deck building work for base and expansion sets work already?
A. 4) You are already able to build your own battlefield from the base set, but you will be unable to use the multiples of the same squad as they are unique. (You can include them as a house rule, but everyone must agree first.) As for deck building there is no set rules for using multiples of the same card. This could be subject to change with future expansions. Q. 5) Last thing (at least for now), how does attacking work? Can I attack any figure whether or not it is adjacent (or engaged) with another enemy figure?
A. 5) As for attacking I once again insist you view this instructional video. Being engaged prohibits your figure from attacking any others figures it is not currently engaged with. Otherwise you may attack any target within range.
Hopefully I've addressed all your concerns. Thank you for questions, always glad to help tbro97 .
Happy gaming.

Hey Toshi Umezawa , Thank you for answering my questions! Three things I would like clarified: 1) When moving from a water space to a sand space, do I treat it like going up the regular tiles? 2) If I build my battle ground, and it is customized, do I follow the rules for turns and "victory" goals depending on whether I play 1v1, 2v2, or everyone for themselves? 3) when building my deck for the spell library, what are the rules/limits regarding that. Is it 12 spells all costing up to or less than 200 "points"? And same thing with the army cards. Also, I have a few more questions that have come up; 1) How does victory work depending on the base game models? 2) In an every for themselves, or even 2v2, match do I take all my enchantments and squad figures off the board if my PW dies? or do they all stay until destroyed in battle (in the case off the squad figures), or the entire squad is removed/destroyed? Thanks again Toshi Umezawa .

Three things I would like clarified:
1) When moving from a water space to a sand space, do I treat it like going up the regular tiles? Yes water tiles are considered to be a lower elevation than the sand tiles around them. It will cost your figure two movement to get out. 2) If I build my battle ground, and it is customized, do I follow the rules for turns and "victory" goals depending on whether I play 1v1, 2v2, or everyone for themselves? You can if you want to.
3) when building my deck for the spell library, what are the rules/limits regarding that. Is it 12 spells all costing up to or less than 200 "points"? And same thing with the army cards. You are correct for spells, "12 cards no more than 200 points". For armies there is no limit to the number of armies you have but the total cost can't be more than 500 (600 if you have the expansion). In the base game every thing is already at the correct limits so you don't have to worry about that. In the expansion all of the colored armies have cost of 100 so you can just add them to the existing armies. The spells in the expansion however aren't so nicely priced and may require some work to get to the 12 cards 200 cost or less requirement. Also, I have a few more questions that have come up;
1) How does victory work depending on the base game models? 1v1: Whoever kills the opponents planes walkers first. 2v2: When both opponents planes walkers are dead. Everyone for them selves: When the turn maker reaches the end add up the PPF (price per figure (the small number next to the cost))(Heros and planes walkers only have one figure per squad so just use their normal cost) of your figure that are adjacent(not on) to the glyphs whoever has the most wins. Also in a 1v1 or 2v2 if the turn maker tuns out follow the steps for Everyone for themselves but count all figures not just the ones next to glyphs. 2) In an every for themselves, or even 2v2, match do I take all my enchantments and squad figures off the board if my PW dies? or do they all stay until destroyed in battle (in the case off the squad figures), or the entire squad is removed/destroyed? All of your stuff that is already on the field stays on the field until its destroyed or removed. You can no longer play cards or summon more creatures.

Hey thank you very much mineman1! Just one more question. How do we know the height of the ruins? cause the game guide does not give us anything on the height of the ruins, so how do we determine if two figures are engage if there are the ruins in between them if we do not know the height of the ruins?

Use the actual physical height of the ruins, compared to the physical height of the figures.

Welcome tbro97 !! mineman1 has it correct for the ruins. More specifically, at the bottom of every army card is a value for Height. The Height of the figures in an army is usually very close to the number of piled-up hexes that equal the height of the minifig. So the one ruin varies between 11 and 14 height along the top. The Ruiner is Height 10, so it can't see over the top of that ruin. 2) If I build my battle ground, and it is customized, do I follow the rules for turns and "victory" goals depending on whether I play 1v1, 2v2, or everyone for themselves? When you build a battleground, you can decide WHY you are building it. If you are building it for 1v1, then you would probably use the 1v1 rules. It is certainly possible to build a battleground that clearly favors one starting area - so you might make that style to play a 2v1 game - but determine what you want for victory conditions in that situation.
