lusitanianbarbarian , welcome to the Forums! Nice work here and with the Arena !
To answer your first question here, there is no simple formula to calculate the point cost of a figure/squad. The folks that create Heroscape custom figures struggle with that question a lot. Often the result ends up as a comparison other figures cost. Usually some play testing helps to get the cost into the ballpark. If I would always choose a particular Army because (insert reason), then the cost is probably too low. If I would never choose the army because (insert reason), then the cost is too low. If I have to weigh the options between several Armies (this one does lots of damage but dies rather quickly vs the other one doesn't do a lot of damage but is really tough to kill) as an example, then you are probably in the right range.
For your BLOODWARRIOR army, Attack 3 and Defense 3 are pretty normal, as are move 5 and life 2. So compare those numbers with other figures to get an idea of what other units cost. For example:
Lantern Geists - 30 (4 life, 2 Att, 4 Def)
Shirdag Cultists - 50 (2 def)
Eldrazi Scions - 55 (Move 7)
Restless Zombies - 60 (1 life, 1 Def)
Bloodline Nobles - 70 (6 move, 2 def)
Mad Prophet - 70 (6 life, 4 def)
Avacynian Inquisitors - 85 (same)
Pummelroot Elementals - 90 (3 life, 4 Att)
Rhox Veterans - 90 (3 life, 2 Def)
Malakir Bloodchasers - 100 (6 move, 4 Att)
Ghoul Vanguard - 100 (4 Att, 4 Def)
Blighted Reavers - 115 (3 life)
Using this concept, the Lantern Geists look way too cheap. However, they are a squad of 2 figures which also might make a difference. The remaining difference comes from the powers listed for each Army. Overall, I'd say that the cost for a 3 figure squad of Life 2 Move 5 Range 1, Att 3 Def 3 would fall between between 70 and 100 (15 points either side of the Inquisitors who have the same stats).
Having said all of this, the Armies that I proposed when AOTP first came out were costed to exactly replace one of the other squads from the first set. This was simply because they would allow a player to replace one out of the box Army with a different one and still have the correct point total (500).
Now some comments about the BloodWarriors card specifically.
No Respite
The wording here looks OK
Goreaxes
As written, this allows the player to keep re-rolling blank dice until none are blank. I'd suggest that you actually add that detail if that is what is intended. However, if they are allowed only one re-roll, then that should be stated. Just to avoid confusion.
Gorefists
Similar to Goreaxes, do you roll an extra die for every shield rolled or just one extra die no matter how many shields are rolled? Either answer is fine, but the additional definition may avoid confusion.
As for costing BloodWarriors, their Attack will tend to average closer to 3 than a regular attack of 3 (Goreaxes
). Their life is sort of higher than 2 since they get one last attack when they should have been dead. So I would start my testing of them with a cost between 85 and 100, since they seem slightly better than a 3Att 3 Def Squad.
Just my two cents.
